Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Administers treatments and occupational agents per Occupational Therapy Plan of Care as prescribed by a referring physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities. The therapist coordinates, delegates and supervises responsibilities assigned to supportive staff (RCNA, Rehab Tech, etc.). The therapist participates in operational aspects of the department, maintains performance improvement activities within the department, participates in Process Improvement activities as needed, and performs other departmental duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Services Manager. Ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Participates in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs. Adheres to departmental attendance policy.

Setting: Hourly position. Would initially start in SNF and Inpatient, then cross-train Outpatient and Home Health.

Hours/Days:

  • Days: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Current State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Licensure. Can start position with a temporary license.
  • Graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy Assistants or graduate of accredited college or university with a certificate in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current BCLS certification

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Additional languages a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Knowledge of physical medicine, occupational therapy modalities, anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of therapy machine operation, maintenance and repairs of same.
